I'm a working Dad. I wish I was a stay-at-home Dad. I have a
beautiful little girl called India, and the most amazing wife, Jane. I love to
get excited about the small stuff, completely forget about the big stuff and
have a new understanding of the little people. I turned thirty this year and I
had initially thought that it would be the making of me - it wasn't, fatherhood
was.
I often think of the amusing things that happen to us in life and what effect they might have on our future thoughts and actions, and until now I didn't have an output for it - now I do. Looking out into the 'blogosphere' there seemed to be a lot of mums out there who were penning their thoughts and feelings, yet the dad market seems to be quite far behind with only a small number of guys getting noticed.
I don't want fame, or fortune from writing a blog. It'd just be nice to once in a while to be appreciated or noticed for some of my musings, as my darling wife sometimes has enough of my random chatter.
The reason I'm writing this blog, is all down to India, my wonderful daughter. She has bought so much happiness into our lives and completely turned it upside down for the absolute better. I find myself laughing at the silliest things and reminiscing about what it used to be like when we were little - and then realising that I've got a real role to play in the bringing up of an actual human being, it's the most amazing feeling in the world!
My blog title is a sort of premonition, as when my little lady is old enough, and I might ask her if she lives in Brighton, I'm expecting the answer to be "I live in Hove Actually, Daddy". This is the typical answer that you will get from any Hovite who's home location has been confused by an outsider who has possibly assumed that you live in neighbouring Brighton. I hope you enjoying reading what I have to say, and please feel free to leave comments and express your views on any of the subjects that I write about.
